Dear T&T…STOP growing!

It just dawned on me that my kids are growing too fast….like….wayyyyyyy too FAST! The things they say sometimes make me wonder weather they're 5 & 3 or 15 & 13 And while I'm out balancing other people's books and ensuring I run a tight ship at work, Tai is reading to his little brother at home, and teaching himself and his little brother his tauloto for the Children's Primary Program at church next month.  Taui literally makes his own breakfast - pours cereal & milk or he cracks open a yogurt topped with Belvitta crackers.  Tai washes dishes, and can start a laundry load.  He even corrects the things little brother says.  while I was sitting at my computer tonight working out next month's budget, Taui came up to me and said " Mom, are you loading down?"  I was silent for a moment trying to figure out what he means when Tai corrected him "It's not loading down brother its 'downloading'. Mom are you downlo...

A small gesture goes a long way!

yes you guessed it, shitty day! No matter what I do to stay away, shitty days always find me. Have you ever sat in on a meeting and realized ' what a load of krap ' and how shit it was? Too much rah rah rah and NO action? ova le fiapoko ai airena iloa fai se kae! Seriously, been hearing this shit too many times. Let's just cut the bullshit. admit our losses. take our gains (however fat or small it may be) re-focus, re-strategize and move the hell on. Do us all a favor - don't waste your time and blardy hell stop wasting mine. --- aaahhhhhhh...what a morning. and its only 11am. But wait....there's red velvet cupcakes on my desk! with a mocha frap from Starbucks! accompanied by a cute card saying, "Dear J,  We appreciate all the work you do for us.  Enjoy the Sugalinas, we know they're your favorite! Best,  Dr ....... & Staff " And just like that, I snapped out of my anger management issues! And realized, this is the reas...

Matai Titles!

This is the 2nd time I have been approached to take up a matai title from my family! The first time I got asked - I flat out said - NO THANKS! I'm annoyed and frustrated! I'm already a contributing member to the damn ridiculous family saogameas that I despise and hate so much! Why would I pay $3000 for a title when I know it probably won't do me any good? And why is a Matai title so darn expensive? In my understanding,  matai titles were bestowed on those worthy of the title! I thought you had to earn it! And I understand that if you earn something, you didn't have to pay for it. "Hey, we are planning to do 10 nofo this Chritmas for the title (insert matai title here) If you want to be a (insert matai title here) it'll cost you $3000." Saofa'i/Nofo : why do you have to feed the whole village when you are given title? Can't we just have an intimate ava ceremony , say a prayer to praise the Lord and go on our merry ways? Why ...

Eating healthy = try again!

Like you didn't know that already...uuugggghhhhh... Whenever I get stressed or just plain tired from work, family and everything else (which is like.....ALL the time) I find myself turning to FB, Instagaram, candycrush etc.  You know, all those waste time thingys. Since Monday, I attempted to start my healthy eating routine After weeks of devouring my meat pie stash along with popcorn & chocolate parties with my boys almost everynight, It was time to stop being a heffa and get back to eating healthy. However, it's quite hard to stay on track when you check FB & Instagram and the first thing that pops up are people's food postings. Whatta bitch! I saw Fawdu's instagram posts and Crazy Cakes crazy baking  on FB and I found myself in my car heading to Hokulani's for a sweet tooth fix. Darn you social media and your temptations! Needless to say, eathing healthy week 1 was a FAILBAD! And I'm debating on deleting my FB forever! ...

2 days no blog - FAIL

Ha! ia sorry for my wrong or rather, sorry for my laziness. You know foi a...same excuse, too tired from work etc etc. But before you write me off as a failure/broken record, I'll have you know that I will continue no matter what..choohooo..ioe telling true! I said I was doing this for 30days and I will stick to it. 6 days down and 24 more days of blahblahrings to go! -- So I finally got some things ticked off my TO DO list for the week. 1. Sent in registration to vote for the upcoming Generals. I have no idea who is running for my District or any of the offices for that matter, but I have 3 months to do research and read up on their proposals. Hopefully it just won't be another bunch of rubbish. People like to promise things and when elected, never follow through with their promises. KULUK!  It will be my first time voting since I became a daughter of Uncle Sam..auuuuuu...nupi! 2. Speaking of being a daughter of Uncle Sam, that came with a price. I took an oath to ...

My 3yo challenger!

When we had our 2nd baby, we were ecstatic! My eldest boy would now have a  playmate and he won't be bored of me and his dad anymore. We named him Tauilagi (short for Tauimailagi meaning 'reward or blessings from the heavens) as it turns out, he is more of a challenger/headache from heaven than a blessing from heaven..we should';ve named him Tigailagi...hehehe...kidding ;) This kid lives to challenge me everyday. He loves annoying his big brother... to the point where the big brother would cry or end up punching him. and trust me, he does it all on purpose! But no matter how mad/angry/annoyed I get, just one look at him...he squints his eyes, and I'm reaching out to give him a squishy big bear hug. EVERYTIME! I love him all over again! There is just something about this kid. I can't stay mad at him. NOT at all! Last night, he chopped my ipad charger into 4 pieces.  I threw a fit because I lost my iphone charger on our previous trip, so...

Never let a man shop for emergency food

In the last couple of days as the whole of Hawaii prepare for the double hurricanes, I asked my husband to go shopping for some food to add to our pantry 'just in case'. Before he hopped on the plane to Brisbane this morning, he made a last minute run yesterday early evening before I got off from work. (This is after I asked him 3 times since 3 days ago to get the shopping done because I was too busy at work) I got home last night to find - 4 gallons of milk - 2 boxes of chicken - 2 boxes of orange crush - 3 loaves of bread - 2lbs of mince meat SERIOUSLY! if the electricity goes out tonight, we wouldn't have any way to cook the food because we don't have a gas stove. The meat will go bad so I would have to throw them away. What a waste of money! I was expecting cans of tuna, spam and vienna sausages. Bloody bafoon! I wanted to yell and throw a fit, but then I remembered he would be flying in bad weather conditions the following morning so I decided to ...

Double Hurricanes + earthquake = chaos

Talk about PRESSURE! Hawaii is expecting 2 hurricanes to hit simultaneously this weekend.  We've been warned since Monday. This morning, there was a 4.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Waimea, in the big island. Now that caused a huge stir. Traffic is crazy As I was driving to work this morning, I saw waves crashing on the beach and the sea levels are rising (and there were still idiots on the beach ready to surf) All the supermarkets are flooded with last minute shoppers.  It was reported that there is absolutely no water in the supermarkets. HA! The 10 gas stations in Kaneohe are all OUT of gas! ALL public schools are closed! Most govt agencies are closed.  Even the wax salon is closed so my wax appointment has been cancelled until further notice. aue! Everything is closed.. (except for the bank - maka i kupe kele gei au shits)  The roads are chaotic. WTH are these people still doing on the roads anyways? Go hom...

Call me the unprepared FOB!

[note: I wrote this blog yesterday but got distracted and never posted it. So yes, i didn't fail the 'blog a day' challenge...bhahahahaha..ga lua fekaui ma si keige o FaamaoniILanaChallenge? lol] --- If you didn't know, there is a storm looming about the Hawaiian Islands. It's 'supposed' to hit tomorrow or Thursday and it's 'supposed' to be a BIG one. Since I've lived here... 10 years ago, I always hear these warning of big storms and tsunamis, but in the end, NOTHING hits! *knock on wood* As members of the LDS church, we are encouraged to have our 72hour kits ready in case of emergencies. And being the absolute opposite of what a good LDS mom is supposed to be, I am not prepared and therefore my family is NOT prepared.  I have no 72hour kits ready at all! BUT, my pantry is stocked. I just needed some water.  So I stopped by Times Supermarket on my way home from work last night and whalaaa…almost all isles were EMPT...

SMACK back to REALITY!

Image
6 plane rides, 4 different cities, 2 countries and 3 weeks later, we are back in the comfort of our home (however messy it may be), in our own beds with the air-con on full blast..dayum it's hot! Not that I'm complaining or anything,  I'd rather take the warm weather over the freezing cold in Auckland and Melbourne any day! Master Taui ready for the long haul to Auckland So our trip started out with a 9hr flight from Honolulu to Auckland. It was my brother's birthday the next day and I wanted to spend his birthday with him since I only see the guy once every 6years. YIKES! It was also the first time my babies got to meet their uncle for the first time. I have to say, traveling with the boys now is so much easier than 2 years ago. They were making all sorts of friends on the plane and at one point, I heard Master Tai teaching an elderly lady in the back how to count in Samoan. I, of course knocked out as soon as we took off. I'm not a big fan of aeroplanes ...

Challenge Accepted!!!

'A blog a Day' challenge is going down So I accepted this challenge about 4 days ago (thank you Inconsistent Blogger..ahem) and just now got the time to post..bhahahaha...already a shitty start.  I should just give up here...BUT..I won't! Coz I ain't a quitter..bhahahahahahaha...(oka se denial) disclaimer: I am only doing the challenge for 30 days...because I'm also realistic and I know I won't keep this up forever...choohoooo.... I shall try not to post mindless shi* but then who are we kidding, most of my posts are mindless blahblahrings. so gooooooooodluck :) ps: In case you didn't know, this entry counts as my blog for today :) See you tomorrow  xoxo kuaback
