Our Hospital Scare

July 28th 2009 @ 12.25noon. Just finished a sit down with a client, ready for my lunch break. Got up to fax some documents to the back office when I got these sharp piercing pains on my right side just below my ribcage; I fell back into my chair and my pule came over to see if I was ok. I waited for a while to see if the pain would stop but it kept getting worse. Immediately, I called my doctor to see what was going on. Doctor was out to lunch so I got the OB advice nurse. The conversation started; OB : Aloha, this is Cynthia Jenkens how can I help you? Me : *panting..in pain* Hi my name is Jennifer, Kaiser #9582088. I’m 34weeks pregnant and I’m having really sharp pains on my right side. OB : one moment let me pull up your chart..pause..ok, gotcha, is your tummy getting harder when you’re in pain? Me : Yup OB : what kind of pain? Me thinking*freck,…I just told you sharp piercing pains* SHARP PIERCING OB : Ok, you’re having contractions..go straight to Labor and Delivery in Moanalua,...

The Verdict?...I simply DONT KNOW

Lately, I’ve been contemplating whether to go back to work after baby comes or just stay home and be a full time mommy. As much as I love the last option, I’ve got so much I want to do and places I want to go that definitely needs $$$ support. Not only that, I’m also a control freak who needs to feel financially secure before I become a full time mommy. Hubby always tells me to have faith and everything will fall into place..weerrrrrr, well that’s him because I’m not too sure about myself and faith. Hhhmmm.??? It makes me wish that I was still a carefree, debt free teenager; living under my parent’s roof, not having to worry about mortgage/rent, electric & water bills, no grocery shopping (that was mom’s job), not having to worry about the messy house (that’s what house-girls were for), no car payments, no need job (y? when there’s always mom and dad’s wallets) Mom always tells us that our generation have it easy, because back in the days when she was running around in her Amau pan...

TGIFF & damn immigration pple

YAY, it's Friday, and it's my day off..hooray..my long weekend begins.. Not that I'm doing anything exciting for this long weekend, other than doctor's appt. today at 2.30pm, and probably coming home to catch up on all my TNT series and some new movies Sam's downloaded last week. Yup, that's just about it. Now how exciting is that??? My life can't any better than that these days..ahar. Talk about no energy for anything. I was lying in bed last night, couldn't go to sleep, so my brain was working hard planning what to do for the weekend. hhhmmm...Hanauma Bay..WalMart & Costco Run..Harry Porter..what's for Toonai on Sunday..hhmmm??? Then I woke up this morning and ***WHAMBAM..I am so NOT in the mood to do any of those things. I just want to sleep sleep sleep. I do want to go to the beach though. SO we'll see how it goes when I get back from the doctor. In other news, my PR (permanent residency) expires in November and I have to send in the pape...

Ramblings @ 11pm

Dear Diary :) Today at around 4pm, a woman drove her car off the Laie Point. No, it was no accident, she did it on purpose (yes, SUICIDE it was). Rumor has it that she got into a fight with her husband and decided to take her own life. Gosh, it must have been a really big feisty fight. I can't help but wonder if she was thinking of anything or anyone while she drove off the point. Did she think of her kids and how it would affect them? How about her husband? Imagine how shitty he's feeling right now, he himself probably wants to drive off the point as well. Did she want to pull back but it was too late? Was she struggling to get out of her car while it was upside down in the water? Did she regret her decision during the last few seconds of her life? These are usually the same questions that pop up in my head when I hear of someone taking their own life. Was it really that bad? Was she at the edge that she just couldn't take it anymore and decided the quickest way out was dr...

Her name is Audrey Carruthers aka Orchy and she is getting married tomorrow (July 4th) to her beau of 9 years, Setu. I’m sad and depressed that I couldn’t be there to celebrate her special day. But I am so excited for her and this big step in her life. I could only wish that I could open my eyes and I’m in Samoa already and skip the damn plane ride. I wish I was there to tell her everything is going to be ok (instead of telling her on the phone) I wish I was there for her to vent to and yell at. To be her driver while we run errands and get the last minute stuff done To order and pick out flower arrangements To meet with venue décor faafafines To pick up her dress and do her last minute fitting To lay awake with her the night before the wedding because she just couldn’t sleep To get up early the wedding morning to get our hair done at the salon To help her put her makeup on. To drive her to the church for the service To make sure that everything goes the way she wanted. To fluff her ve...

mindless blogging

It's a Tuesday night in L-town. Everyone is gone to the airport to see Sam's lil sister off to Utah for Law School; Sam is playing chaperon for his scout boys at the HSA's camp out at Pupukea where Elvis Presley's house is located; and I am home by my lonesome self (well not really, my brother in law is downstairs in his room doing homework) while i tap away on this poor keyboard, craving my mother in law's infamous spongecake. I am enjoying the peace and quiet of my house right now. It has been complete chaos this past month. We've been playing hosts for most of the family since the 4th of June when everyone started flying in for P&G wedding; and now that everyone is starting to return to where they're from, our little corner of the world is getting back to normal. The last of the bunch leave on the 9th of July and I cant wait. Definitely taking a personal day so I can clean out my whole house. Anywhos, the P&G wedding was fabulous. The biggest wedd...
