When I moved to my new location - one of my clients stopped by to visit with a beautiful purple & white orchid plant for my office. I absolutely loved it - mostly because for the first time in my 7years with ASB, someone's gifted me something 'other' than FOOD!! So the orchid 'was' pretty sentimental to me. Notice how I said 'was'? So the story goes - Once upon a time, there was an absolutely gorgeous princess who lived in a far away land. She grew the most beautiful orchid with special powers in all the land - powers to turn one's ugly day into sunshine and rainbows just by looking at it! The princess loves looking at this orchid and waters it every other day. There was an evil Witch who wanted the orchid for herself but was sealed away by a powerful spell. The evil Witch was so jealous that she couldn't have the orchid for herself so she posed as a professional gardener and offered up her unwanted gardening advise to the princess - ...

My favorite month of the year is here. Actually, it is my 2nd most favorite month of the year (December is my most favorite for obvious reason ;)  I decided to take TnT on their first hike before a visit to the pumpkin patch at Waimanalo Country Farms.  We hiked up to the Makapau'u Light House on Hawaii Kai side accompanied by my 2 evil step sisters. Other than Little T demanding a water break every 5minutes, and giving up half way up - we had a great time. It took us 45minutes to finish a hike that is usually 15-20minutes (without children)  We had fun in the scorching hot sun..ahem - taking lots of photos, taking in the beautiful scenery, and saying 'Good Morning' to every stranger we came across on the way up and down the mountain.  At one point, I wanted to turn around and go back to the car, but lo and behold, we soldiered on and we made it to the top safe and sound.  And now, I am sitting at home with a sore back from carrying my littl...

Miles expire every 18months. who the heck travels Quantas Airlines every 18months? I was racking up my miles to have enough for 4 tickets. I hit the roof when I logged in last night and I only have enough for 1/4 of a ticket. FML!!!!! There is so much work involved when trying to claim miles that they didn't credit to my account from my past travels. It's hard to make out what the indian customer service guy is saying on the phone basically - they cheat you out of your miles, not a user-friendly website, and customer service is very poor! blardy fark! not a good start to this Wednesday morning

The past couple of weeks have been quite challenging for me - to say the least! On top of everything I'm doing, I got appointed as a CDI for the Chamber of Commerce! I was excited and humbled but I was also drawn back at the thought of trying to organize my life in order so I am not running around like a mad woman! As was expected, there is so much going on that I can't even begin to comprehend how overwhelmed I got this past week! Meeting after meeting, session after session, dialogues left and right, decision decisions - my brain was literally fried! So as I was having a pity party feeling all sorts of sorry for myself - I thought of saying a prayer * stop rolling your eyes - true story* I don't remember that last time I prayed.. My stress levels were up to my eyeballs and I needed just at least an hour to myself, clear my head, and NOT THINK! After my short prayer, I went for a walk . It's the hubby's birthmonth - being the thoughtful, dutiful, loving wife that I am, I decided last month that for his birthmonth, I will do something nice for him everyday! to make up for always forgetting his bday since we got married! Little things that I never do that will surely put a smile on his face *ahem* Things like making him his favorite breakfast of pancakes and turkey bacon! (because i can't remember the last time I made the man some breakfast) or taking the trash out for the whole week or doing his laundry or helping him clean out my car (Ok, I better stop there coz this list isn't making me look like a good wife) Anyways, It's now down to his birthweek!
