confusion
Tai's had the cold for a couple of days now, so the baby daddy took him to the doctor today for a check up.
Tonight, his fever sky-rocketed like the past two nights.
Always around the same time.
Last two times I took him to ER for blardy high fever, the doctor gave him a dose of IBuprofen, with a dose of SUNMARK fever medicine; then instructs me to give him Ibuprofen every 6hours and fever/cold medicine every 4 hours.
To save me $25 from seeing the doctor everytime Tai gets a cold, I've literally got this routine instilled in me brain.
It's worked out just fine.
The baby daddy however is too much on the fiapoko side and still wants to see a doctor, who always tells us to "do the same thing you're doing right now"
duhhhh
So back to his fever sky-rocketing again tonight-
When Tai and his dad got back from the doctor's office, the baby daddy said to me "don't give him the fever medicine anymore, they said the Ibuprofen is fine for now plus you're overdosing if you're giving both medicine"
He gave baby his medicine about 4hours ago but he was heating up again, not supposed to give the medicine for another 2hours.
so he told me "lets just give him his fever medicine" the one he previously said, 'NOT' to give him anymore.
When it was time to give the IBUprofen again, i walked to the fridge to get the medicine and home boys goes "don't give him that, we just gave him the Fever medicine, you'll overdose him"
me: "FYI, i've done this routine for the past 2nights, and it worked and there is no overdosing whatsoever"
b.daddy: "yes, but the PHARMACIST said, give him only 1 medicine, don't give the two"
me: "but you just did that?"
b.daddy: "yeah, so we don't have to give him the Ibuprofen" (the one the pharmacist recommended according to him)
me: "ER doctors have done this to him a couple of times and I've done it so many times. if the fever is high, you can give him the two medicine as long as you give them at the right times. If it's not too threatening, you can give him just one medicine at the given times"
b/daddy: "yeah but the pharmacist said..."
me: "screw the damn pharmacist, she don't know shit- so shush..."
I guess my question is:
Who the freck do you listen to? The doctor or the frickin' pharmacist?
I'd like to say-DOCTOR, because they know their patient's better than the pharmacists and they understand the severity of the situation.
So note to self: always ask the doctor what "CAN" and what "CANNOT" do and never let a pharmacist tell you otherwise.
