Talofa 4rm the kuabackerrrrs

It’s been a week and some days since we’ve been home. So far,   we are living the Mcdonald’s slogan..'WE’RE LOVING IT.  T&T are soaking in the undivided attention of the many relations while their mommy sleeps in without any complaints. Thanks mum and devoted sisters, I’m beginning to feel sane again. This is the life! Hopefully it continues on like this for a while…ahar..one can only dream.!!! Travelling with 2 kids…. Now that was a major challenge in itself. Thank gawd I knew 3people on the same flight. One was a client from work, one lady is my dad’s tennis buddy and the other was a total stranger who was my immediate friend at the gate.  For 2 and a half hours, Tai was back and forth on his walkabout, chatting up every single person seated at the aisle seats. He ended with a very talkative pisikoa on the same flight with his wife from one village in Lefaga. (Small world indeed). He finally got tired and came back to his seat, put on his seat belt and went to ...

It's CRAZY up in here!!!

Bitter SWEET goodbye! We have 2more days in this house before we have to move out. I'm glad to be rid of the useless landlord but shockingly missing this place already. This was our very own first apartment, by ourselves where we didn't have any of the man's siblings or anyone staying with us. We were actually on our own, alone, with freedom to walk around naked when we please. Will definitely miss this place! We'll be spending our last night at the man's cousin's house before we fly out Friday morning. MAD RUSH: My middle name should really be 'procrastinator '. When mom left, I had made a list of things that I needed to do and the days to do them, so I don't run around like a headless chicken in the last week trying to get them DONE! Well, wadya know? It's our last week here and I haven't really done anything. Not totally my fault though, my bubba got sick when his NANA left (he misses her me thinks) and is just getting better. So...

Outrageous 'saogamea'

Am I the only one who thinks it's blardy absurd to donate/give/contribute to a 'faalavelave' for a very distant relative? ie: great grandmother's sister's son's daughter's son's wife's dad's passing away? COME ON, have you even met them before? This is one thing that irks me about the 'faasamoa', the need to give and GIVE even while we struggle to make ends meet or have absolutely NOTHING to give. Is this the faasamoa or is it just my family being 'fiakagaka/fiakele'? Whatever the case, I'm sick of it. I called home tonight to talk story with my parents, ONLY, they weren't home because they were off dropping off the 'fesoasoani' i le maliu a le aiga o Pai. I talked with my sister and I asked her who's funeral it was. Her response, "Who knows, (the big family matai) just dished out 'saogameas' saying it's family" To be honest, I don't mind the saogameas, as long as they're r...

WORST luck!!!

It's official. I have the WORST LUCK with cameras. The last one had a battery problem and caved in last week. It's not even a year old. I don't know what's going on and the hubby looks at me like I break these things on purpose. I think I've had a camera every year. So darn annoying!!! Anyways, for an early Christmas present, I bought myself this baby, the man does NOT know about this purchase of course, he'll find out soon enough, when the UPS box lands on our doorstep. SURPRISE!! I'm also thinking of trying out photography while I'm home. I've always been interested in photography and think this is the perfect opportunity to start. Use my relations as guinea pigs..hehehe. So if you're in Samoa and would like to be a guinea pig for this new venture, feel free to email me at jenn.lemalu@gmail.com and I'll gladly be your amateur photographer. hehe

I don't know..BUT this ticked me off

RANDOMs

1- While getting ready to head out for errands in the morning, we heard a knock on our door. I went to answer only to be greeted by a skinny hoochie looking woman wearing just a 'pareo' to cover her boobies and a tiny one to cover her uuummmm...lower private parts. She had a bunch of stuff at my door way (clothes in trash bags) The pareo was a light yellow see through you can see her fugus and her nipples..eerrr okayyyyyyyy. Anyways, here's how the convo went Me: HI! can I help you? random: Hey, uuummm..do you have a bike with a baby chair in the back? I need a bike so I can bike with my baby to see my husband. Me: thinking WTF ? Sorry, We don't have a bike random: yeah, do you know anyone who has a bike that i can use, for my baby? oh and I need a car seat too.. (sure, would you like some mocha frap on the side too?..shiet, wth?) there was no baby Me: where's your baby random: turns, looks about, turns to me, well she's not here right now hub...
